Donald F. Lenz, 91, Greenwood, died on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 13, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial followed in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

 

Donald Fred Lenz was born on Sept. 30, 1920, in the town of Eaton, rural Greenwood, the son of Hugo and Ida (nee Lewke) Lenz. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at Eaton Center School. After completing his education, he served in the U.S. Civilian Conservation Corps. He married Audrey Duda on Dec. 18, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage, Stonebank. He took over the operation of his family farm, which he worked until his retirement. After retiring, they moved to Greenwood and resided there until his death.

 

He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood, and served on the church council. He had many interests, but especially loved his family, farming being outdoors, fishing and deer hunting.

 

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Audrey, Greenwood; three daughters, Bonnie (Chris) Clark, Eau Claire, Diana Lenz, Sheboygan, and Kay (Gary) Capen, Greenwood; one granddaughter, Megan Clark; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roy, Arnold and Loren Lenz; and two sisters, Louise Krubsack and Bethel Christopherson.
