LaVerne E. Martens, 69, Milwaukee, formerly of Greenwood, died on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012. Memorial visitation will be held for two hours prior to a 6 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home, Milwaukee.

LaVerne E. Abel was born on Oct. 20, 1942, in Greenwood, to Edwin and Fern Abel. She was raised and attended school in the Greenwood area.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Timothy Martens Sr.; four children, Deborah (Jeff) Parthun, Cudahy, Rodney (Gail) Martens, Eau Claire, Timothy Jr. (Lori) Martens, Ceres, Calif., and Tracey (Rick) Hartline, Cudahy; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Erik, Ciara, Jennie (Alex), Jered, Jacob, Maegan, Josh, Austin, and Sawyer; two great grandchildrnn, Leo and Jack; and other family and many friends.
