Magnuson, Alfred E. (18 November 1894 –18 July 1964)
Funeral services for Alfred E. Magnuson, 69, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, were held Tuesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home. He died Saturday at his home following an illness of several months. The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Grant Cemetery.
Alfred E. Magnuson was born November 18, 1894, in Lindstrom, Minn. He came with his parents, the late John E. and Anna (Sandbig) Magnuson to Jackson County, where he received his education. The family farmed in the Pray area until 1922.
On April 12, 1922, he was married to the former Ella M. Cook in Neillsville. That year they moved to their present farm in the Town of Grant, which had been his home for the past 41 years.
He was a member of the Haugen-Richmond Post, No. 73, American Legion, and served as president of the National Shipping Association for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Shirley, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a son, Earl Magnuson of Rt. 1, Neillsville; a sister, Miss Ellen Magnuson of Minneapolis; and two brothers, William of Whitehall and Louis of Merrillan. Three grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were: Ronald Gluch, Ernest Vine, William Vine, George, Charles and Arthur Hubing.

Wahlgren, Jr., of Lindstrom, Minn.; Mrs. Leah Short, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Short, and Lorraine, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest vine, Mr. and Mrs. William Vine, Gordon Vine, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hiles, William Hiles, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Selves and daughter, Mrs. Armin Moh and Earl Vine, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Austin Hancock of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klapper of Shawano; Miss Marian Hantke of Eau Claire; and Mrs. Erland Quinn of Cumberland.
