Evanson, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (55^th - 16 July 1964)

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Evanson, who were married July 16, 1909, in St. Paul, Minn., were honored at a 55^th wedding anniversary dinner at the Oscar Gunderson home in Marshfield recently.  Mr. and Mrs. Arne Matheson, son-in-law and daughter of the Evansons, and their daughter, Sheri, also were guest at the dinner.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Evanson were born in Norway, where they attended grade and high school.  On coming to the United States, Mr. Evanson worked as a carpenter and Mrs. Evanson attended a business school in Rhinelander.  Prior to moving to Neillsville in 1956 they farmed in the town of Eaton.

Mr. and Mrs. Evanson are the parents of three living children: Roland of Mosinee; Orville of Wausau and until recently of Neillsville, and Mrs. Matheson. Two children died in infancy and a son, Stanley, of Detroit lakes, Minn., died in 1962. They have eight grandchildren.
