Mrs. Emil Lindow has been under the weather the past week.

James Quicker is having more than his share of trouble.  A few weeks ago he lost one of his horses and Sunday morning the other one got tangled in a barb wire fence and put itself in a useless condition for some time to come.

Mrs. Paul Gehrke spent last Saturday with her sister Mrs. W. Albrecht.

Just because a fellow is unfortunate enough to be a newspaper correspondent that is no sign that he is a cannibal or an outlaw and cannot be approached by other human beings with safety.  No indeed, if an of the neighbors happen to have a sand-bee or any other charity job, rest assured that a correspondent will respond to the summons as soon as anybody, and do so with pleasure.

Miss Erma Albrecht, after spending 3 weeks in Rockham, S.D., returned home last Saturday morning.  She reports crops almost a total failure on account of the heat and dry weather.  Why do people live in such an outlandish place?  Come to Clark County where crop failure is unknown and prosperity is the watch word.

Ever since Carl Omhold captured the gold medal on cheese at the Marshfield fair his mustache is turning up.

Last Thursday morning Chas. Guk started out to attend the Marshfield fair, but as soon as he was well under way he was attacked with a severe case of cold feet and returned to his home afoot and alone and since then has lost all faith in horseless carriages and all other contrivances of modern construction.

Will Grade helped Chas. Guk cement his cellar Tuesday.
