Dr. and Mrs. Victor Tharp and family returned home last week from a week’s vacation trip through New England states. While in Massachusetts Dr. Tharp purchased a two-year-old Morgan Stallion named "Yankee Doodle." They brought him home in a horse trailer.
Leonard A. Polazkowj of Rt. 1 Granton, a native of Poland, became a naturalized citizen of this country Thursday in a court in Wisconsin Rapids.
Thirty-six members of the Walther League of the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant and Christ Lutheran of Chili attended a Braves ballgame in Milwaukee last Thursday. The group was chaperoned by the Rev. and Mrs. F. C. Benecke.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Garbisch returned Sunday from Alexandria, Minn., where they were guests of her sister and family. Enroute home they drove through northern Wisconsin.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Quam, Mrs. Rosetta Meyer and Mrs. Anita Landgraf spent the weekend camping near Rib Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gilbertson and family of Rockford, Ill., visited a few days last week with his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Gilbertson, his brother, Erwin Gilbertson and family, and with his sister, Mrs. Jerry Marg and her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Opelt have returned to St. Paul, Minn., after spending a week’s vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Opelt and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Garbisch. Mr. Garbisch and his son-in-law spent three days fishing at Stale Lake, near Cumberland.
Mr. and Mrs. James Kirk and family of Prescott were weekend guests of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garbisch, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kirk and family of Chili joined the group.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Flanegan and family of Minneapolis were weekend guests of her mother, Mrs. Anna Zahradka, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eibergen and family joined the group for dinner.
