Sweeney, Oscar (8 NOV 1882 - 15 JUN 1962)
Oscar N. Sweeney, 79, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ira Straughn. Funeral services were held in Lebanon, Ind. Sunday at the Central Christian Alliance Church.
Mr. Sweeney was born Nov. 8, 1882, in Lebanon, Ind. He was married there to Carolyn McConnylghy who died Dec. 21, 1960. He was employed as a railroad telegrapher for New York Central most of his life. After the death of his wife, he came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) to reside with his daughter.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Fitzgerald, Betch Grove, Ind., and two brothers, William Sweeney, Indianapolis, Ind., and Steven Sweeney, Beech Grove, Ind.
