Mrs. Joe Bird and daughters spent Friday at Marshfield.

Miss Clara Arneson of Curtiss is teaching in Lynn.

Frank Furgeson transacted business from Cascade on Monday evening.

Jay Brown and family of Heathville moved to Veefkind on Saturday.

Geo. Frei Jr. is working for Mrs. Annie Williams since last week.

Mrs. Herman Behn and daughter Myra of Brillion are visiting at Wm. Bartz’s since last week Thursday.

W.B. Wentworth of Edgerton arrived here last week Wednesday on a visit to his son Rush.

Miss Clara Hubing is keeping house for her sister, Mrs. Geo. Beaver during the latter’s absence at Athens.

Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Hubing, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Crandall, autoed to Neillsville Sunday evening.

Mrs. Elmer Dennis is still compelled to go on crutches, owing to a sprained ankle suffered two weeks since.

Mrs. A.J. Knorr is home from her pleasure trip with her son Lynn through Colorado and other interesting western states.

Will Sultrecht will leave for Yakima Valley, Wash., to remain indefinitely and may accept a position offered him on a fruit ranch.

Miss Irma Albrecht of Chili has accepted a position in the Geo Hart Store and began work there two weeks since.

Mr. and Mrs. Duncan McInnis and two sons came down from Park Falls last week Thursday for a visit with the Willis Williams family.

Men and teams have been engaged in excavating to the new church basement in the John Kintzele grove much of the time the past two weeks.

Prof. Vincent went to Edgar on Tuesday.  He and his family expect to take up residence there next week.

Geo. Fraser came home from Millston last Saturday and made an over Sunday visit.

Al Snow of Chili transacted business here Tuesday.

Calvert Scoles came home from Phillips Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Frank Converse returned to Melrose on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heinz of Chili were in town on Monday.

Mrs. L.N. Jensen spent Monday morning with friends in Neillsville.

Dan Rausch made a business trip to Marshfield Monday.

Miss Alma Altman had dental work done at Neillsville Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huntley came home Monday evening from a 5 day visit to relatives at Stevens Point.

Silo filling and fall plowing are engaging the time and attention of this farming community just now.

Arthur Riedel and Arthur Yankee finished painting the C.E. Beeckler house last week and it now presents a much improved appearance.

Beulah Lee and Elva Wegner spent Saturday with friends at Neillsville.

Bush Davis is here from Loyal engaged with carpenter work on a barn for Albert Davis since last week.

Miss Frieda Garbush is home since last week from a four week visit in various South Dakota and Minnesota points.

Mrs. Mabel Welsh went home to Spokeville Saturday and packed up her household goods to move her rooms here.

Miss Elsie Neitzel is teaching near Merrillan Jct. and entered upon her duties there Monday.  Miss Laura, her sister, accompanied here down to her boarding place on Saturday.

Frank Johnson of Washburn spent Sunday with friends at Stevens Point.

Mrs. Fred Gerber spent Wednesday at Neillsville.

James Finnegan went to Marshfield Tuesday on business bent.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lowery went to Wheeler Wednesday to visit at Will Dahl’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wilding and Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Kuechenmeister arrived home all okay by auto Saturday from their trip to Milwaukee.

Bert Corey, Jake Breseman, Aug. Hiller and Webb Winn were engaged with business at Neillsville Tuesday.

Mrs. Jane Owens of Manawa, after a 10 week visit at Albert Sternitzky’s, went home Friday.

Chas. E. Reed of York came home last week Thursday from a 4 day visit with relatives in Plymouth.  A.S. Reed, his father, came home with him.

Albert Hemp of globe, District Attorney W.J. rush, Miss Emma Sel and Miss Bessie Kennedy of Neillsville purchased Ford cars of Knorr & Rausch last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Bublitz and daughter Hilda of Milwaukee, enroute home from Yellowstone Park, stopped off here Saturday to visit with the Will Kurth family and others.

Rural carrier Albert Mabie resumed his duties on route No. 1 today after a two and a half week vacation, therefrom.

Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Morris came home on Friday from their week’s visit at Milwaukee and various state points.

Chas. Brooks’ big new barn is fast nearing completion, a handsome and valuable addition to his farm buildings.

Mrs. F.J. Baer, accompanied by her sister Miss Ethel Stockwell of Neillsville, autoed to Loyal, Greenwood and various county points on Sunday.

Mrs. Geo. Beaver and daughter Laona went to Athens last Saturday, where Laona is to stay with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hubing and attend school.  Mrs. Beaver is expected home tomorrow.

Miss Myrtle Knorr autoed over to Neillsville last week Wednesday and brought Miss Lillian Tragsdorf home with her for a couple days visit.

Rev. Wolfe and family of York went to Fall River Monday to visit relatives until Wednesday, when they continued on to Evansville to attend the Free Methodist Conference.

E.M. Robinson of Minneapolis was a guest at the Cash ide home the first of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Lee went to Oconto Falls Monday for an indefinite visit at their son Vinton’s.

Mrs. August Riedel and daughter Alma spent Sunday at Lorenz Kohl’s at Marshfield.

Gottlieb Hillert and daughter Amelia were guests at the Geo. Frei home one day last week.

Mrs. Mose Page and 2 children came down from Stanley and remained until Wednesday, visiting at A.W. Hale’s at York.

Mrs. Richard Braatz left for Sioux City, Iowa, Tuesday evening on an extended visit with the Henry Fischer family.

Andrew Garvue has resigned his position with H.C. Witte and accepted a similar one with Wiric & Co. at Loyal.

Mr. and Mrs. John Barth, their daughter Miss Bertha and son John, all of Nasonville, drove out and spent Sunday at Sam Cook’s on the Ridge.

Rush Wentworth went to Merrillan Tuesday evening and met his wife, who was returning from a several weeks visit with relatives at Edgerton.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Thruston of Spencer, Ia., and Mrs. Jerry Davis of Marshfield came Saturday and made an over Sunday visit between the Jesse Mortimer and W.E. Benedict home in York.

Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Frazier are home from Pearl City, Ill. after a several weeks visit with relatives.  Mrs. Frazier’s mother, who lives there, is critically ill.

Mrs. Mary K. Garbush and daughter Ida and Mrs. Henry Ziegler went to Wausau last week Tuesday.

Mrs. Garbush and daughter came home Friday, while Mrs. Ziegler continued on to West Bend from Wausau that day.

Mrs. D.E. Way of Newberg, Ore., who has been here for some time visiting at A.W. Hales’ and Mrs. Edna Lawrence’s in York, was joined by her husband here last Friday.

Mrs. L.L. Ayers spent a couple of days with Neillsville friends last week on the sad mission of attending the funeral of the late Mrs. Riving Ayers, who was the wife of a grandson of hers.

Rev. A.E. Knaack of York went to Black River Falls Saturday to assist at the tent meetings over Sunday.  Mrs. Knaack went to Evansville Wednesday as a delegate to spend the balance of the week in attendance at the Free Methodist Conference.

Mrs. Dave Garbush left on Friday for Plymouth, Sheboygan and various other state points to visit relatives and old friends.

Robert Garbush has a crew of carpenters rushing the building of his new barn and silo to replace those buildings destroyed by fire a short time ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas of this place, with Mr. and Mrs. Will Neinas of Chili, autoed to Grand Rapids early Sunday morning and spent the day with relatives and friends in that city.

Mrs. Fred Scole went to Chippewa Falls last Friday and remained until Monday noon, the guest of friends in that city.

Vet Marsh was in town last Friday.  He expects to leave for Pacific coast points in the near future and will at least spend the winter in the west.  His family is now at Kimberley, Idaho.

Miss Ora Marsh returned from her visit at Duluth on Sunday.

Leonard Dorst of Sheboygan, after a several days visit at his uncle Mike Dorst’s, left for Arpin Wednesday.

Miss Hertha Schultz, after a several months stay at Mrs. Free Converse’s, went home to Nasonville on Wednesday.

Mr. Day, after an extended stay with his daughter, Mrs. A.M. Johnson at the South York Cheese Factory, left on Saturday for a visit to other relatives residing in the southern part of the state.

Helen Creigo came down from St. Paul Friday and remained until Sunday morning, a guest in the A.J. Knorr home.  She is staying with the families of her two brothers at Stevens Point this year and attending high school in that city.

Mrs. Ahern, who has been keeping house here for her nephew Mike Klein for several weeks past, went home to Chicago Wednesday.  Mrs. Joe Buss accompanied her home to the city on a visit and sightseeing trip.
