Garrison, Mossman D. #3 (1 JAN 1881 - 16 SEP 1913)

*Note - Birth date taken from another obituary on the website

Mossman D. Garrison, cashier of the Thorp State Bank (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) and one of the leading young businessmen of that village, met almost instant death by his automobile turning over on the road about three miles south of Withee Monday night.  In the car with him were James Connor and Hixon Mead.  The former had several ribs broken and the latter was but slightly hurt.  It is not known exactly how the accident occurred, but it is reported that it was caused by the brake being applied too quickly.  Mr. Garrison was the son of the late L.O. Garrison who died suddenly a few months ago.  His father’s death left the responsibility of a large mercantile and banking business on Mossman, and he met the emergencies of affairs with rare skill and efficiency.  No sadder accident has ever occurred in this county.  Besides his mother so lately bereaved, he leaves a young wife and child.  His wife is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.R. McCutcheon, who are now absent on a visit in Ireland, thus leaving her without their aid and comfort in the hour of sorrow.  The Keenest sympathy is felt by many people in this city for the bereaved young wife and the mother of the deceased.  (Republican and Press)
