Corn cutting is about finished in this section and a bountiful crop rewards the farmer’s toil.
Rev. Pickham filled his appointments for the Lindsey church both morning and evening, and had two splendid sermons for his hearers.
The Ladies Aid Society was announced to meet at the church Thursday. The ladies are always up and doing, and they start the new year’s work with something in the treasury.
Perry Hayes’ residence is putting on a new dress of paint. Rastus Anderson is doing the work.
Ross Hart came home Sunday by way of Pittsville for a vacation of a couple of weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Opelt made a trip to Lynn Sunday.
Geneva White and Mabel Broker were privileged to Sunday at home. Mr. Broker met them at Ebe Friday evening.
The Uphams’ of Marshfield called on Brokers’ Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Washburn of Lynn spent Sunday at the Simpson home.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schumacher of Vesper spent Sunday at Will Muir’s.
Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Seifert came in on Monday’s train from Chicago and are going to locate on a farm west of the Washburn schoolhouse.
Mrs. J.R. Crouch and Mrs. Geo. Bert took a drive to Granton Thursday of last week.
Nellie Broker accompanied the Ketelle’s to Marshfield Wednesday of last week.
W.J. Robinson reports his swine herd increased by a fine litter of 7 pigs.
Lindsey school commenced Tuesday morning with Miss Helen Sager from Stevens Point at the desk. She is a graduate of the state normal of that city and holds a state certificate.
Otto Bredeman threshed out in the Hazel and Dalrymple neighborhood last Saturday.
It is reported that some real estate transfers were made last week just west of the county line. Art Seifert sold his place and bought another across the road from that.
Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Tilton and daughter went to Vernon County last week to attend the fair and visit Viroqua friends. Mrs. Tilton and daughter returned Tuesday.
