Herman Kettel of Chili had a narrow escape from death a short time ago while playing Die Treppe auf on his accordion. A spark from his pipe set fire to his trousers but extinguished itself when reaching the flesh. Blessed are they who are to green to burn for they have nothing to fear.
The foundation for the Voigt Cheese Factory is complete and the frame work will soon be underway.
Miss Dora Guk is attending the German school at Maple Works.
Fred Grade and daughters Bertha and Louisa were Marshfield callers Sunday.
Henry Conrad, a master mechanic, booze fighter, stone mason and temperance lecturer has taken charge of Herman Jensen’s barn wall.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eide, William Green and Louise Kleinschmidt took in the ballgame at Marshfield Sunday.
Some people are getting so greedy that if they owned the whole world they would want hell for a calf pasture.
The little son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Lichte is sick with summer complaint.
Arthur Garbush purchased the Alex Cattanach farm and will take possession sometime in October.
Chas. Guk says if water lilies are dug up by the roots before a frost in the fall and replanted in the spring on well drained land they will turn in sunflowers.
