Vachon, Clotchide M. (4 MAR 1884 - 19 JUL 1962)
Mrs. Clotchide Marie Vachon, 78, passed away at the Wis. General Hospital at Madison on Thursday, July 19, 1962, after having entered the hospital for a checkup. Pulmonary embolism was the cause of death. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 21, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Owen at 9:30 a.m. with Father Mulford officiating at the Requiem Mass. Burial was made at the Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were her six grandsons, Kenneth Clifton, Jack Clifton, Jerry Clifton, Donald Clifton, Earl Johnson and Thomas Johnson.
Clotchide LaMarche Vachon was born on March 4, 1884, in Michigan and married Armides Vachon on Dec. 31, 1898, in Hazelhurst, Wis. The couple lived in Ashland until March 17, 1917, when they moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). After having lived here for three years they moved to Rapid City, S.D., where they resided for three years before returning to Owen in 1923. They moved to Wabeno in 1935 where her husband passed away in 1956. Mrs. Vachon moved back to Owen in 1958 where she had since made her home.
Mrs. Vachon is survived by one son, Edmond Vachon of Forest Park, Ill.; six daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Emil F. Hansen) of Owen, Edna (Mrs. Jack Spaulding) of Madison, Nelita (Mrs. Nelita Pysher) of Cavour, Wis., Elda (Mrs. Elda Clifton), Madison, Vera (Mrs. Herman Newman) Owen, and Beatrice (Mrs. George Crowe), Superior; 28 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren. She has one sister and two brothers living in Canada.
Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. George Crowe and daughters, Superior; Mrs. Edna Spaulding, Mrs. Elda Clifton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dans, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clifton, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clifton, Mrs. And Mrs. Jack Clifton and Mr. and Mrs. Frances Swigigunis, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Clifton, Fox Lake, Ill.; Wallace Spaulding, Washington, D.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Vachon and children, Forest Park, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Huberty and children and Tom Johnson, Fredonia; Mr. and Mrs. Frances Karrack, Milwaukee; Mrs. Howard Kotke and children and Miss Beulah Hansen, Cudahy; Mrs. Laura Porter and Mrs. Beth Murphy, Schofield; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smith, Cavour; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Tucker, Wabena; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Vachon and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Weideman, Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Timmers, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Scuazer, Augusta; and Mr. and Mrs. Jorald Pagel, Appleton, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mead of Thorp.
