A more complete obituary has been obtained of Charles H. Taylor, 58, Evergreen Park, Illinois, a former resident who passed away on February 9th. The obituary follows:
Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at 2955 W 95th St. for Charles Henry Taylor, 58 of 9230 S. St. Louis Ave., for 13 years a resident of Evergreen Park. Mr. Taylor died Monday in Little Company of Mary hospital after suffering a coronary attack.
He was widely known through-out the village as he had been active in events of the Evergreen Park Methodist Church and for 17 years had been editor of "The Northwest Booster," publication of the Northwest Boosters club, a civic organization. In this capacity and as a member for more than 10 years of the park playground planners, Mr. Taylor had been instrumental in obtaining and helping to equip two parks, one at W.91st St. and S. Millard Ave., and another at W. 95th St and S. Holman Ave.
Mr. Taylor had been employed for 30 years by Commonwealth Edison of Indiana.
The Rev. Ridell Kelsey, pastor of the Evergreen Methodist Church, conducted the funeral services. On Wednesday evening, another service was conducted by Evergreen Park Lodge 1171 of A.F. and A.M.
Survivors include his widow, Dorothy; two children, Pfc. Richard, who came home from Fort Leonard Wood for the funeral, and Mrs. Jean Virene of Glen Ellyn; two grandchildren, Marsha Virene, 6, and Jeffery, 8 and Mr. Taylor’s mother, Flora Taylor, 88, who had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law for the last 22 years.
Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
