Mrs. Nora Magedanz, 62, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25.

The former Nora Spangler was born in the town of York April 17, 1896.  She was married to Herman Magedanz in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, Nov. 23, 1915.  Following marriage they moved to another farm in the town of York and remained there all of her life.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Alter Society.  Her husband died February 1953.

She is survived by three sons, Joe of Marshfield, Romaine of S. Milwaukee, and Emil at home; two grandchildren; three brothers, Tony Spangler of Loyal, Frank Spangler of Calif., and Joe Spangler of Neillsville; and by tow sisters, Mrs. Max Zink of Cudahy, and Mrs. Victor Garbisch of Loyal.

One child and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday and burial was in the parish cemetery.  Rev. Norbert King officiated at the services.

A general rosary was held at 8:30 Sunday evening in the Myre Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Zink, Franklin Walter, Phillip Schecklman, George Kronberger, Joe Hoeser, and Tony Walter.

Coming from out of town to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. Romaine Magedanz of South Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Max Zink, Mr. and Mrs. William Scaffidi and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Zink and family, Cudahy; Mrs. Bessie Spangler, Joe Spangler and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Magedanz and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaiser, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sternweiss, and Mr. and Mrs. John Weber, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tichy, Greenwood.

The Altar Society attended the service in a body.
