Wigstadt, Edward (22 JUN 1885 - 6 OCT 1962)
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9th at the Nazareth Lutheran Church for Edward Wigstadt, 77, of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) who died of a heart attack at about 3:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 1962, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Mabel Mioland, where he had resided for the past four years. The Rev. Beryl Knudsen officiated with services at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Interment was made by Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery at Curtiss, with the Van Huizen-Fritz American Legion Post of Owen conducting the military rites.
Serving as pallbearers were John Lokken, Art Thompson, Cornell Erickson, Sabin Scherf, C.E. Beck and Minus Munson.
Edward Wigstadt was born June 22, 1885 in Dorchester, being the son of Thomas Wigstadt and Betsy (Quarnia) Wigstadt. He was a veteran of World War I and was unmarried.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Mioland, Withee, and Mrs. Carl (Bertha) Braun and Miss Anna Wigstadt, Dorchester; three brothers, Louis Wigstadt, Dorchester, William Wigstadt, Neenah, and Thomas Wigstadt, Fond du Lac, and 15 nieces and nephews.
Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wigstadt and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schaefer, Laurence Leach, Frank Leach, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl James, all of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. William Wigstadt and family of Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Braun, Anna Wigstadt, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wigstadt and son, Mrs. Ronald Baumgartner and son of Dorchester, and Mrs. Boone Poppe and son of La Crosse.
