Meach, Dena (27 SEP 1876 - 13 OCT 1962)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for Mrs. Dena Meach, 85, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Saturday, Oct. 13, 1962.  The Rev. Paul Doering, pastor of the Loyal Methodist Church, officiating, and burial was made in the Colby Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Clarence Edblom, Frank Goeltz, Harold Reeves, George Smith, Arthur Olsen, and Victor Dallman.

 

Miss Bunee Kraut, accompanied by Mrs. Toivo Kallio, sang "In the Garden."

 

The former Dena Watenphool was born Sept. 27, 1876, in Fairchild.  She was married on Oct. 15, 1897 in Colby to Elmer Meach, who died in 1934.

 

Mrs. Meach resided in the Colby area until 1942, when she came to Owen to reside with a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson.

 

She is survived by two sons, Floyd and Melville, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Walk and Mrs. Lila Merien, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Arian Johnson, Owen; and 10 grandchildren.

 

Attending the services were Floyd and Melville Meach, Mrs. Vila Walk and Mrs. Lillian Marien, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Travis, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rahl, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rahl, Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moletski and Mr. and Mrs. John Kozlowski, Wis. Rapids, and many other relatives and friends from Owen, Thorp, Colby, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Unity and the surrounding area.
