York Center (15 September 1911)

 

Mrs. Edna Lawrence was called to Minneapolis last week Tuesday by the illness of her daughter, Mrs. Olive Campbell.

 

Mrs. S. A. Lindsley accompanied her son, Rev. Bert Lindsley and wife who went back to their home in Allegan, Michigan, where she will spend the winter.

 

Dan Timerson made a trip to Greenwood Tuesday to dispose of barley.

 

Jesse Mortimer entertained the threshers the fore part of the week.

 

Mrs. Harry Bowman left Tuesday morning for Milwaukee where she will visit her brother Shirley and family and also attend the state fair.

 

Miss Mabel Stevens of Spokeville was a caller in this vicinity Friday and Saturday.

 

Ed Northup went to Milwaukee Monday to attend the State Fair.

 

Farmers who have silos are busy between showers making the corn fly.

 

Frank Kubat is doing the mason work on the new bridge which is being erected in front of the Allie Turner farm.

 

Mabel Turner is assisting Mrs. Bell Mortimer with the housework during threshing and silo building.

 

Walter Rowe has purchased a new Paulson engine.
