Schroeder, Rev. Paul F. (2 May 1901 - 25 September 1964)

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for the Rev. Paul F. Schroeder, 63, of Leon, Ia., where he had been making his home. The Rev. L. V. Fardom of Iowa officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Schroeder died September 25, in Decatur County Hospital.

The Rev. Mr. Schroeder, son of the late Fred and Helene Schroeder, was born May 2, 1901, in Neillsville.  He attended parochial and high school in Neillsville and completed a business training course in Wausau Business College in 1920. 

On September 20, 1920 he was married to the former Marian Erwin in Chetek.  They had observed their 44^th wedding anniversary this year.  In the early part of their marriage they resided in Marshfield and later moved to Loyal, where he owned a shoe shop.  In 1923 the family moved to Blair, where he operated a shoe shop for 23 years, at which time he sold the business to enter school at the Omaha Bible Institute. 

He had served churches in Blair, Taylor, Hixton; Dubois, Nebr.; Council Bluffs and Leon, Ia.

He is survived by his wife; a son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schroeder of Wisconsin Rapids; and four grandchildren, William, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Robert. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Marie Keller of Neillsville, Mrs. Louise Tramm of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Elsie Polinski of Milwaukee, and Mrs. John (Agnes) Hovorka of Racine; and five brothers, Carl of Neillsville, William of Steilacoom, Wash., Ben of Madison, Rudolph of Mukwonago, and Gerhardt of Kenosha.

Pallbearers were Alfred and William Dux, William Diercks, John Gloff, Wendell and Henry Ott.  Two hymns, "Rock of Ages" and "Abide with Me" were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
