Geo. Beaver visited relatives at Loyal one day last week.

 

Jos. Rondorf went to Neillsville Saturday evening.

 

Martin Winter of Appleton spent last week here with old friends.

 

Victor Cole was home from Rozellville over Sunday.

 

Leonard Cole was home from Stevens Point over Sunday.

 

Louis Gerzemehle spent Saturday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Chas. Brooks is again teaching school near Stevens Point and entered upon his year’s duties there on Monday.

 

Master Clair Glines came home on Monday from a several days visit with relatives at Neillsville.

 

Miss Marion Hort of Marshfield is visiting relatives and old friends in the town of Grant.

 

Arthur Lammers of Birnamwood was a guest in the Gust Bergeman home here on Sunday.

 

Mrs. Gottlieb Riedel made an over Sunday visit to relatives at Marshfield.

 

Mrs. Gustie Glines visited relatives at Merrillan between trains on Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Heath departed on Sunday for their new home at Condon, Oregon.

 

Hillary and Maurice Ross and Marguerite Morris have the measles since late last week.

 

Mrs. Hale Davis, accompanied by her sister Myrtle and Cousin Mildred Kissam, drove to Neillsville Saturday.

 

T.D. Wage lost a valuable cow Monday through death due to bronchial trouble, according to the report of the veterinary in attendance.

 

Carl Retta and daughter Selma were Neillsville visitors Monday.

 

James Ure of Neillsville spent Saturday between friends here and at Lynn.

 

Mrs. N.E. Crandall is visiting her son Eugene and family here.

 

Emma Gluch came over from Neillsville Saturday for a weekend visit at her Grandpa Loeffler’s.

 

Miss Martha Goldamer of Globe made a weekend visit here at her uncle Albert Viergutz’s.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goebel and two children, with Dave Garbush and his daughters Lillie and Clara, spent Saturday with friends at Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Krueger and two children came down from Curtiss Saturday and made an over Sunday visit between the Henry Marg and Wm. Lautenbach homes.

 

The Misses Pearl Davis and Irene Snyder of Marshfield were weekend guests at the W.E. Benedict home in York.

 

Mrs. Gardner McClaflin came from Arpin Monday morning and took her grandma, Mrs. Maria Ober, home with her that afternoon, for an indefinite visit.

 

Mrs. Chas. Neinas spent Tuesday afternoon with her sister, Mrs. Will Neinas, in Chili.

 

Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Knorr left for Chilton by auto Wednesday on a visit to his mother who resides there.

 

Miss Josephine Steidmann of Wausau spent a couple of days at H.C. Witte’s this week and went home Wednesday.

 

Mrs. John Rausch is home since Monday, after a three week visit among old friends at Nasonville.

 

Miss Daisy Glass of Neillsville was in charge of the Millinery department of the P.J. Kemmeter Store the first of the week.

 

Chas. Hecker of Appleton, who sells cheese factory supplies, autoed through here the first of the week on business bent.

 

Mrs. W.J. Davis and youngest daughter spent several days of last week at Neillsville, the guests of friends, and enjoyed the W.C.T.U. meetings.

 

Master Frederick Crosby of Neillsville spent the weekend with relatives in the Otto Henze home.

 

Post Office Inspector Wm. Esch greeted friends at the depot Monday as he was passing through here on the train.

 

Carl Berg and H.E. Williams spent one day of last week at Black River Falls in attendance at the Jackson County Fair.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Davis and baby Minerva made a weekend visit between Marshfield relatives and Edgar friends.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gust Bergeman with their four boys went to Fenwood on Saturday to help Grandpa Bergeman celebrate his 72nd birthday.

 

Mrs. W.J. Thayer arrived home all okay Tuesday after a several weeks’ vacation and visit with their oldest son and other relatives in the state of Oregon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Martin of Heathville went to Eau Claire Saturday where early Monday morning, Mrs. Martin was operated on for an abscess in her head.

 

Miss Nellie Hungerford of Nasonville came over last week Friday and remained until Monday, a guest in the Frank Davis home.  She continued on to Neillsville Monday for a visit among old friends there.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas, accompanied by Mrs. Will Neinas and Mrs. Ernest Neinas of Chili autoed to Marshfield Saturday and spent the day with relatives.

 

Miss Carrie Mundt of Milwaukee, who has been the guest of her friend, Mrs. Will Hubing here for two weeks, visited Neillsville friends several days this week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buss took a day off Tuesday, their 33rd wedding anniversary, and made some pleasant call among Granton friends.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Krumrey, accompanied by John Stannard, who is here from the West, autoed over from Neillsville Tuesday and called on old friends.

 

Mrs. Sereno Wren suffered two broken arms through a fall from the hay loft in the barn where she was searching for chickens or hunting eggs on Monday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Campbell of Marshfield, after a visit with Humbird and Neillsville relatives, stopped off here Tuesday for a visit with the Geo. Rose family.

 

Mrs. D.S. Rausch, Mrs. W.S. Davis, Miss Emma Kimball, Mrs. A.J. Knorr and Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Baer, autoed over to Neillsville Tuesday evening and attended the O.E.S. shower given for Miss Blanche Croker and Geo. Zimmerman, who are to be married on Sunday.

 

Friends of Mrs. Hattie Beeckler here are in receipt of news from her to the effect that she was successfully operated on at the Chippewa Falls Hospital a week ago Monday and is slowly mending.

 

The Circle will meet with Mrs. F.J. Baer next Wednesday afternoon.  The annual election of officers, together with election of 3 church trustees, falls due to take place at that time.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Shafer moved into the Reichert Bros house on Main St. last week.  The rooms vacated by them over the P.J. Kemmeter store will be remodeled and used for store purposes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zanzanger of Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Poppe and child of Milwaukee, together with Henry Schuelke of Milwaukee, arrived here Saturday for a visit at the Carl Schuelke home.  Mrs. Henry Schuelke and children came up from Milwaukee a day earlier.

 

Mrs. Landon Nichols, Miss Lydia Yankee, Mrs. W.S. Davis and Miss Emma Kimball spent Saturday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Martin Sinner and Miss Cliver of Marshfield came over on Saturday for a visit in the Wm. Miller home on the Ridge.

 

Mrs. Julia Bennett of Binghamton, Pa., after a two month visit here at her brother C.G. Hayden’s, left on Saturday on the return trip east, Mr. Hayden, accompanying her as far as Merrillan Junction.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Frazer and sons Beaufort and Wilbur were over Sunday guests of the former’s parent in Chili.  George’s brother Ed and his wife of Palouse, Wash., also arrived in Chili last Saturday for a visit under the parental roof.

 

Mrs. Walter Rowe came home on Monday from a several days stay at Marshfield where she remained that she might be a daily visitor to her sister-in-law Mrs. Jennie Graves, who is in the St. Joseph’s Hospital since early alst week, recovering from a surgical operation
