Corn husking in the order of the day about these diggings and it is most excellent weather for it.

Lindsey’s enterprising merchant, W.P. Opelt repaired the sidewalk in front of his store the fore part of the week.

Ella Clark went to Pittsville last Friday to attend institute and from there went to her school and began teaching last Monday.

The Progress School began last Monday with Howard White at the desk.  We bespeak a good school for Progress under Howard’s direction.

Lindsey’s school is progressing in fine shape under the direction of Miss sager who is giving splendid satisfaction to the entire district and seems to have won the love of every child.

Mrs. Ken McInnis has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Murphy between Lindsey and Progress and returned to her home Thursday.  She had her potatoes at the Clark house dug and Geo. Jones hauled them up there for her.

Mrs. Will Muir and daughters Nora and Margaret went to Nasonville last Saturday to visit her father, Mr. Hanson.

Geneva White and Mable Broker came home Saturday to spend Sunday.  Mr. Broker met them at the Ebbe crossing and took Mable back Sunday evening.

Dus. Johnson had hay baled last week. Florence’s came down with their rig and did the baling.

Miss Nora Erickson visited at the home of Dus. Johnson on Thursday of last week.

Mrs. Julius Kramer and daughter Eram drove out and called on the Seifert’s in the Washburn district on Monday.

The fine weather since the freeze has speeded up the pumpkins in fine shape and they now make delicious pies, like mother used to make.

Doctor Lovesee, who was reported hurt in a frightened team accident, is on rapids recovery.

Glendale Messing in the Painton district had his collar bone broken last week while at play at school.  Dr. Lovesee was called upon to set the broken bone.

Minnie Painton returned Monday from the cranberry gardens where she had been for some time.
