Mrs. H. Prust, who had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Dan Cattanach in Canada, returned last week Friday.

H. Degener shipped a car of barley on Monday.  He will ship another car Monday and Tuesday.  See him about it.

Mr. and Mrs. Rupno enjoy the company of the latter’s sister and son.  The little boy was climbing around trees Monday and while doing so fell and got a hazel brush stuck way into his arm and hand, so that Dr. Housley had to put him into the influence of chloroform while lancing the hand to clean out the wound.

Frank Waterman went to Marshfield Monday to get the lumber for his barn that he is going to build on his farm.

The Potato house is still taking in all potatoes that come along.  The quality of the tubers is fine this year.  The only thing the potato raisers ought to do is sort the potatoes more carefully.  They always bring small potatoes and green and sunburned ones.  Those are not fit to be sold on the market.  It certainly will help the market if only good marketable stock would be put on the market.  It is a wrong idea to imagine that any potato is good enough to sell.  The best is none too good, because if always marketable potatoes are sold the buyer will be able to pay a cent or two premium.  The small or sunburned potatoes are always good feed.

Miss Daphne Beeckler visited her sister, Mrs. Clark Waterman, Saturday.

Mrs. Chas. Neinas was in town between trains Monday.

Mrs. Louis Reichert was a Granton caller Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fraser were over Sunday guests at the John Fraser home.

Mrs. Anton Hogenson was called to Hillsboro, Mich., her sister, Mrs. O.J. Walters, being very sick.

Miss Elda Reisner is in Chili for a short time helping Mrs. Degener.

Edward Fraser and wife were at home for a few days visit with relatives.  They are on their way to New York.

Mrs. Tom Gibson returned from Winona Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Behringer are living in Marshfield since Wednesday.

At a meeting of the bank directors held Wednesday afternoon, Anton Hogenson was elected president of the institution, in place of E.R. Behringer, who resigned.
