The first number of this season’s lecture couse given here Monday evening was a winner and most happily received by a large an enthusiastic audience.  If this number is and criterion of the value of those to follow then it behooves a very person who has it in his or her power to attend those following, to do son, by all means.

The countryside hereabouts has been sociably entertained and well fed at husking bees nightly.  This week as follows: Jim Hughes’ and Herman Braatz’s on Monday evening, at Geo. Marden’s and Nick Hubing’s Tuesday evening, at Clemens Kuechenmeister’s and Robert Garbush’s Wednesday evening, at John Diedrich’s Thursday evening, at Otis Slocomb’s this evening and at Hy. Miss Edna Kemmeter sprung a surprise on her relatives and many friends here Saturday morning, by leaving suddenly for Milwaukee.  Dan Cupid evidently was the only one consulted, as an affair of the heart has been revealed and we are led to believe that by taking a Churchill her heart has been joined with another’s in perfect accord with her own and we hope they will continue to work in unison the balance of her life.
