Sternitzky, Martha (10 June 1879 - 3 October 1964)

 

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Martha Sternitzky, 85, a lifelong resident of the Granton community, who died Saturday in Neillsville.  The Rev. F. C. Benecke officiated at services from the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Mrs. Sternitzky was born June 10, 1879, in the town of Grant, where she attended rural school. She also attended the parochial school in Granton.  She was married in 1903 to the late Fred Sternitzky. They farmed for many years in the Town of Fremont.  She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

 

Surviving Mrs. Sternitzky are: two sons, Walter and Otto of Granton; two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Vivian) Winter of Granton, and Mrs. Grant (Ruth) Wilcox of Sun Prairie; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ed Sternitzky of Granton; and two brothers, Richard Hillert of Granton and Arthur Hillert of Chili.

 

Pallbearers were Louis Westbroker, Carl Worchel, Irvin Sternitzky, Edwin, Herbert and Arnold Sternitzky.

 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton.
