Hannah, Ernest C. (21 December 1896 - 1 October 1964)
Funeral services were held in Mineral Point October 3, for Ernest Hannah, a former Clark County resident who died at the General Hospital in Dodgeville October 1. He had been in failing health for several months.
He was born on a farm near Christie on December 21, 1896, the son of Will and Alma (Neverman) Hannah. He completed grade school at Christie and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1914.
On November 29, 1917, he married Irene Hawley in Greenwood. The following year he entered the service and served in France during World War I. Later he returned to Clark County and farmed in the Town of York. In 1936 the family moved to Mineral Point, where he assisted his father in the hotel business.
For 20 years he was employed by the Wisconsin Power and Light Company, retiring three years ago.
Mr. Hannah is survived by his mother, the former Alma Neverman; a brother, Wilbur; his wife, Irene; and four sons, Gordon of Rockford, Ill.; Robert and John of Mineral Point, Verl of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Dorothy) Wells of Leaf River; and by 20 grandchildren.
