Wasserburger, Martha (19 July 1893 - 1 October 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Henry Wasserburger, 71, of 1101 Grand Avenue, Neillsville, who died Friday at her home.  The Rev. Fr. Bernard T. Kelly officiated.  Burial was made in St. Mary’s cemetery.

 

Mrs. Wasserburger, the former Martha Dux, was born July 19, 1893, in Clark County., She had been a resident of this area her entire lifetime. She attended area schools and on July 14, 1921, was married to Henry Wasserburger in Neillsville. Her parents were the late Herman and Lena (Huehne) Dux.

 

The Parish Council of Catholic Women held a rosary service Monday afternoon at the Georgas Funeral Home.  A general rosary service was read Monday evening.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) and the St. Agnes Circle.

 

Mrs. Wasserburger is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Bernita) Wegner of Neillsville, Mrs. William (Marian) Boller of Wausau, and Mrs. Delbert (Leona) Langreck of Neillsville.  Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Meta) Lang of Neillsville and Mrs. Arthur (Edith) Ampe of Greenwood; and nine grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

 

Pallbearers were Leo, Louis, Kenneth and Carl Kessler, Jr., Ernest Schwellenbach and Robert Chadwick.

 

People from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. William Boller and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Boller, Mrs. Josephine Sherman and Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hudson, Mrs. Priscilla Lane, John Kutel and Karl Zitz, all of Wausau; Mrs. Bernard Walker of Willard. From Greenwood were Mr. and Mrs. Art Ampe, Mrs. Tillie Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chadwick, Mrs. James Chadwick, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schoengarth; others attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Art Johnson of Waupaca; Mrs. James Haas and Mrs. Ralph Pitzrik of Barron; Frank Wasserburger of Janesville; Mrs. Gordon Thur of Fairchild; and Mrs. Duane Bush of Milwaukee.
