The Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard was the setting for the marriage May 16 of Miss Shirlee Ann Volk of Milwaukee and Roy Pipkorn Jr. of route 1, Unity. The couple’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Volk of Willard and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pipkorn Sr. of route 1, Unity.
The Rev. Aloysius Madic officiated before an altar decorated with bouquets of pink roses and baskets of apple blossoms. Mrs. Ruzic played and the church choir san "On this Day, O Beautiful Mother."
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace with long lace sleeves and a scalloped neckline trimmed with sequins. The skirt of lace and net tiers ended in a chapel train and her fingertip veil was held by a crown. She carried a colonial bouquet of purple orchids and stephanotis.
Miss Shirley Pipkorn of Unity was the maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Audrey Walworth and Miss Marlene Metzke of Milwaukee and Mrs. Eugene Pipkorn of Unity. They wore floor-length dresses of pink with a lace tunic over a skirt of ruffled net. Matching lace jackets and pink picture hats completed their attire. They carried colonial bouquets of white stephanotis, pink rosebuds and lily of the valley.
Bernadette Stremikis and Sherry Gosse of Milwaukee were flower girls.
Ronald Volk of Milwaukee was best man and groomsmen were Eugene Pipkorn, Unity, Ernie G. Niot, Milwaukee, and Lawrence Esselman of Loyal. Jerome Stremikis of Willard and Jerry Hinker of Greenwood ushered.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church hall where both a dinner and supper was served. An evening dance was held at Silver Dome Ballroom in Neillsville.
The bride attended Greenwood High School and Milwaukee Business Institute. She has been employed by Glove Union, Inc. in Milwaukee. Mr. Pipkorn attended Loyal High School and is engaged in farming.
Following a Canadian wedding trip, the couple are making their home on the groom’s farm in Unity.
