Mrs. Jim Clark from Nasonville was operated on at the Marshfield hospital for a tumor. The operation was done very nicely and at present Mrs. Clark is as well as can be expected. The doctors promise to send her home in about a week.
Next Sunday the Lutheran Church here will be dedicated. There will be services in German in the morning when Rev. Schmidt of Spencer will preach. In the afternoon Rev. Hasz of Granton will deliver a sermon in English. The Sternitzky band promised to furnish the music. There will be dinner served for those who wish. All those that are interested are welcome.
R. Ebert’s team of horses had a very narrow escape last Friday evening, when they ran away with a wagon, being scared by a passing train. They ran along between both tracks. The left hind wheel of the wagon got struck by the train and was demolished, but the horses got away, ran as far as Chas. Lindow’s place and stopped. It was a lucky accident.
The Equity shipped a carload of calves and cattle Tuesday.
Mr. Paul Beil and Miss Minnie Regner were made one at the M.E. Church last week Wednesday afternoon in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. Rev. Hasz of Granton spoke the words that pronounced them husband and wife. The bride was dressed in blue and the groom wore the regulation black. Two ladies and two gentlemen acted as witnesses. The groom recently bought the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Kundert and the young couple will make their home on that place. Mr. Beil is an energetic young man of good habits, who has been working on the paint and paper hanging trade, and is well liked by all who know him. The bride has been brought up here and grown to womanhood, a lady in every respect. The best wishes are theirs for their future happiness.
The weather has changed so suddenly that it was almost a surprise if we were not used to such changes in this country.
Mrs. Degener and daughter Vivian made a Sunday visit at the parental home, returning Sunday evening.
