Schuelke, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (55th - 27 October 1964)
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuelke of Granton, who were married October 27, 1909, in Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary November 1 with an open house at the farm home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Garbisch, Sr., in rural Granton.
The day began with a special prayer service for the honored couple by the F. C. Benecke in Zion Church.
Open house was held from 2 to 5 p.m.
Seven of their eight children were present: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schuelke of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Alfred (Esther) Ebert and three sons of Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Garbisch; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schuelke and family of Two Harbors, Minn.; Mrs. Frank (Ruth) LaDuca and daughter of Buffalo, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Gus (Doris) Hagen of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schuelke of Milwaukee; Mrs. Danny (Ella) McCormick of Milwaukee was not able to be present.
Mr. and Mrs. Schuelke have lived in this area most of their lives, with the exception of a few years they spent in Illinois, when Mr. Schuelke worked on the railroad. They farmed in the Towns of Washburn and Grant prior to retiring, when they moved to Granton.
Several nieces and nephews and families attended the observance.
