Miller, Louis #2 (30 NOV 1906 - 23 JAN 1963)

 

Military funeral services were conducted Saturday, Feb. 2, for Louis G. Miller from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.  The Rev. LeRoy Urman, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, officiated, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.  The graveside military rites were in charge of the Van Huizen - Fritz American Legion Post 123 of Owen.

 

Mr. Miller passed away suddenly Jan. 23rd, 1963 at Essex, Calif., where he has resided for the past several years.

 

The deceased was born Nov. 30, 1906, in the Town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.), where he received his early education.  He was a veteran of World War II, entering the service in 1942 and being discharged in 1944.  During this span of time he saw combat action in the America Theatre of Operation.  His acts were acknowledged by awarding him the American Theatre Service Ribbon, as well as the European African ribbon and the Middle Easter Service ribbon, with one Silver Star and the Good Conduct ribbon

 

His passing is mourned by one daughter; four brothers, Ralph, Roy, earl and Loren, all of the Owen-Withee community; and four sisters, Mrs. James (Marie) Hanley, Stanley; Mrs. Don (Edna) Schelvan, Milwaukee; Mrs. Carl (Eva) hakes, Holcombe, and Mrs. Justin (Jean) Stapel, Big Oak Flats, Calif.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond, and a sister, Maude.
