Jarchow, Sharon Ann (29 DEC 1962)
Escorted to the altar on the arm of her father, Miss Sharon Ann Jarchow became the bride of Louis G. Kurhais on Dec. 29, 1962, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Withee at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jarchow of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kurhais of Arlington Heights, Ill.
The Rev. LeRoy A. Urman performed the late afternoon ceremony with the church decorated with poinsettias on the altar and satin bows on the pews. David Jablonic sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Wedding Prayer," accompanied by Karen Potocnik at the organ.
The bride chose a traditional bridal gown of floor length Peau taffeta with sheer organza fashioned with a V at the waistline. The scooped neckline of lace applique was adorned with tiny seed pearls and iridescent sequins. Her bouffant veil of imported English silk was attached to a pillbox crown whose band was of pleated taffeta covered with tiny seed pearls. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of chrysanthemums and stephanotis.
Miss Patricia Jarchow, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, with bridesmaids being Miss Sharon Kurhais of Arlington Heights, sister of the groom, Miss Carol Maier of Chicago, and Miss Nona Paulson of Minneapolis. They were attired in red velvet street length dresses with white fur headpieces. They carried white muffs with L shaped carnations and holly.
The flower girl was Shelley Mohr, and the ring bearer was George Amend.
Attending the groom was Jerry Leese of Half Day, Ill., as best man, with groomsmen John Habighorst of Eau Claire, Ken Klabon of Withee, and Robert Segerstrom of Eau Claire.
The ushers were Gary Graham of Medford and Arthur Klabon of Withee.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Meadowview Country Club in Owen.
The bride is a graduate of the class of ’61 in the Owen-Withee Senior High School, and has been employed at A.C. McClurg in Chicago. The groom graduated from the Owen-Withee Senior High School in 1959 and is employed as a draftsman at the Fastex Division of Illinois Tool Works in Des Plaines, Ill.
The newlyweds will make their home at 1551 Ashland Av., Des Plaines, Ill.
