Christman, Jeanne Marie (Marriage - 14 November 1964)

The Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Jeanne Marie Christman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christman of Withee, and Jimmy Lee Englebretson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Englebretson of Owen.  Vows were exchanged in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Beryl Knudsen before an altar graced with baskets of white chrysanthemums.

The bride entered the church with her father, wearing a princess-style gown the theme of which was simplicity.  It featured a floor length skirt with no trim.  Long sleeves came to a point at the wrists.  Her only jewelry was a small gold chain and cross. Her shoulder-length veil was attached to a pointed crown trimmed with white roses and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses and carnations, with small red rosebuds at the streamers’ ends.

Mrs. Robert Helberg of Barron, a sister, served as her matron-of-honor; bridesmaids were Faye Englebretson, sister of the groom, of Owen, and Karla Padhola of Thorp, a friend.

Serving the groom as bestman was Robert Helberg of Barron. Groomsmen were Neil Krause and Bruce Englebretson, both of Owen. Ushers were Donald Christensen of Greenwood and Garry Englebretson of Loyal.

Mrs. Jan Phillips sang, "The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord’s Prayer" accompanied by Louise Hansen at the organ.

One hundred-thirty guests attended a reception in the Lutheran parish hall.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Englebretson are graduates of the Owen-Withee High School with the class of 1963. She is attending a beauty culture school in Eau Claire.  Mr. Englebretson is employed in sales work in Eau Claire. They are residing at 1611 Western Ave. Eau Claire.

Guests were from Eau Claire, Kaukauna, Rhinelander, Athens, Greenwood, Loyal, Spooner, Menomonie, La Crosse, Marshfield, Chili, River Falls, Owen, Barron, and Minneapolis, Minn.
