Pierrelee, Victoria (14 OCT 1913)
The betrothal of two of the town of York’s best known and most respected young people was concluded by marriage when on Tuesday, Oct. 14th, 1913, Miss Victoria Pierrelee and Mr. Chester Dubes were united in marriage at Dallas, Texas. The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Dubes and for the past four or five years has made his home in Sherman, Texas, where he has an excellent position with the Strange Jewelry Co. of that place. The bride, a daughter of the late August Pierrelee, slipped away very quietly some three weeks ago, as we supposed to visit her sister Miss Margareth at Kansas City. Well she did visit Miss Margareth a few days, then continued on to Dallas where Chester, accompanied by a goodly number of his young friends, met her. The ceremony was performed at Dallas, Texas, before this company of close friends, and was followed by a spread at a Dallas hotel, after which the bridal party departed on the next train for Sherman, Texas, their home. The happy pair were warmly welcomed and made the recipients of many useful and beautiful gifts which will long remain as mute testimonials to the donors love and esteem. Among the gifts particularly appealing to the bride’s sinse were many articles of sterling silver. Sherman Texas may well congratulate itself in having secured this worthy pair of our most esteemed young people. The News joins with their many friends here in wishing them joy and prosperity through their married life.
