The celebration of the laying of the cornerstone and the dedication of the Lutheran Christus Church was carried out last Sunday. A considerably large number of outsiders showed their sympathy by attended the celebration. The congregation is very thankful for all the help given them from so large a number of people from all sides alomost overwhelming and as might be said unexpected. The use of the M.E. Church was very graciously granted by the members of that church and has been very much appreciated by the congregation. Both services in German and English were well attended and Rev. Schmidt of Spencer, as well as Rev. Hasz from Granton, spoke the right words for the occasion. Rev. Hasz spoke also and acted at laying the cornerstone. The Sternitzky band rendered the music for the whole day and their work was appreciated by the congregation. A German and an English song were given by a male choir. The net receipts were very satisfactory, considering the weather and roads, being above the $70 mark.
