Humbird (School Items - 26 February 1944)
1st and 2nd Grades
The first and second grades had a home-made candy sale in their room Tuesday.
We have several pupils absent this week. We hope they will be back very soon.
3rd and 4th Grades
In our pioneer unit we are learning about the early settlers’ clothes and how they were made.
We have several boys and girls in our room who have measles. We hope they are all feeling better and will soon be able to be back in school again.
5th and 6th Grades
We are busy reviewing for our six weeks tests this week.
All fifth graders received one hundred in their spelling test Friday.
The sixth grade made a geography border for our room which looks very nice.
High School News
We have a new junior boy in high school; namely, Joe Sainsbury.
Parents are requested to keep children home who are in contact with people having measles, if they have not already had them. The requirement of 14 days for this disease is necessary and is required by the State Board of Health before the child may be admitted to school.
Monday night a basketball game was played with Hixton. In the preliminary game the Hixton town team met the Humbird town team, winning by score of 20-18.
