Mr. and Mrs. Paul Meyer left Monday for San Mateo, Calif., to visit their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William (Nancy) Kolmodin, after spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay, Sr., and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer, former residents of Greenwood who now own and operate a resort at Minocqua, will spend the winter months in California and Arizona.
Members of the Home Interest Homemakers met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Rose Ludwig. Mrs. Catherine Schmitz was co-hostess. The lesson on "laundry aids" was presented by Mrs. Wilbur Stewart and Mrs. Kathryn Ivey. New officers are: Mrs. Leon Kuester, president; Mrs. Lawrence Cox, vice president; Mrs. Catherine Schmitz, treasurer. The next meeting will be the Christmas party, to be held at the home of Mrs. Glen Drew December 8. A potluck lunch will be served.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mayenschien are the parents of a daughter, Judy Kay, born November 7 in Marshfield. Mrs. Mayenschien is the former Rita Syth.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Etterley and daughters, Rebecca and Sarah, have move to Northfield, Ill., from the Kenyon apartment on E. Depot Street, now occupied by George Koblyski.
Mrs. May Glendenning, who was a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, was taken by ambulance to Neillsville Monday, where she was admitted to Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hugh Severson accompanied Mrs. Garth Luchterhand of Loyal to Unity, where they attended a reception in honor of Sgt. and Mrs. Lyland C. Baumann Wednesdays evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester W. Schuette. The honored couple were married November 7 in Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She is the former Marion Jean Schuette. They are enroute on a trip through the southern states and will reside in (Missing location).
Dale Brux, Roger Schwarze, Melvin Niemi and Richard Ashbeck, who attend the technology institute at Wausau, spent the weekend at their respective homes.
Mrs. Hugh Christie was taken by ambulance to Marshfield Tuesday afternoon, where she was admitted to the hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. George Caliebe have received word informing them that their daughter, Miss Grace Caliebe of Maywood, Ill., and her cousin, Miss Lois Hameister of Appleton, left Monday to spend a month in Hawaii.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Berthold and daughters, Gloria and Jean, returned Sunday after a week’s trip to Colorado Springs, Colo., where they visited her mother, Mrs. Rollin Williams; her sister, Mrs. Dalton Bartlett and family; and at the home of her brother, Walter Williams. Enroute they also visited in Waukegan with her sister, Della Williams, and at the home of her aunt, Ethel Thompson.
Mrs. Jake Barr and Mrs. Carl, Fitzl visited at the Robert Fitzl home at Wonder Lake, Ill., Sunday. They were accompanied as far as Delavan by Jack Barr, Jane Dyre of Greenwood and David Bugar of Marshfield, who returned to resume their studies, after spending since Wednesday at their respective homes.
Guests from Thursday until Monday at the George Caliebe home were their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grabler, and children, Kim and Bob; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Klepper and son, Tony, of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plamann of Appleton; and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Caliebe and family of Greenwood.
Diane Hinker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hinker of Wausau, is spending some time with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Hinker, while her mother is a hospital patient in Wausau.
Mrs. Harlan Brux and daughters, Janet, Judith and Monica spent Friday evening at the Mike Kowieski home in Auburndale.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jeras returned to Lyons, Ill., Monday after spending several days at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken, and with friends here and at Willard.
Miss Cheryl Behrens of Madison spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Behrens.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walters and family of Princeton visited Sunday at the Myron Kenyon home. Mr. Walters is a former superintendent of Schools of Greenwood.
