Schoengrund, Amalia (01 JAN 1892-APR 1958)
Funeral services were held at Delavan Thursday for a former resident of Loyal, Mrs. Carl Schoengrund, 66, who died Monday at a Fort Atkinson hospital, where she was admitted the previous day.
The former Amalia Hinkelmann was born Jan. 1, 1892, in Watertown, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hinkelmann. The family moved to Loyal in 1910. She was married in Loyal to Mr. Schoengrund May 30, 1917, and continued to reside here until 1942, when they moved to Delavan.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters Mrs. Walter (Amalia) Reimer, Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Miles, and Mrs. Warren (Lydia) Scott, all of Delavan; two sisters and a brother, Miss Claire and Ernest Hinkelmann of Loyal and Mrs. John Kurz of Spencer; and four grandchildren. A son, Gerhart, was killed in 1945 during the war, in Germany. One brother, also preceded her in death.
Relatives from this area who attended the funeral included: Mrs. Elsie Hinkelmann, Gerry Hinkelmann, Walter Hinkelmann, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hinkelmann and daughters, Loyal; Mrs. Edward Radue, Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hinkelmann, Abbotsforb; and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Hinkelmann, Marshfield. Also there from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Hinkelmann and son of Rockford, Ill.
