Gergen, Isabelle J. (13 March 1895 - 7 February 1965)

 

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 o’clock for Isabelle Gergen, 69, former Neillsville resident who died Sunday at Tucson, Ariz., where she had resided since 1959.  The Rev. Oscar Nichols will officiate at services from the Georgas Funeral Home.  Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Gergen, the former Isabelle McKimm, was born March 13, 1895, in Neillsville. Her parents were the late Anna (Esselmann) and Joseph McKimm.  She attended schools in the Town of York.

 

Following the death of her first husband, Otis Lee, she was married to Vernie Gergen on January 22, 1924.  He died in 1957. She then moved to Tucson to be near a daughter, and was a practical nurse at the time of her death.

 

She was a member of V. F. W. Auxiliary and the Neillsville Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. John (Vivian) Howard of Duarte, Calif., Mrs. Farren (Lorraine) McClaffin of Calif., Mrs. Tunis (Arleen) Baker of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Donald (Thane) Pamperin of Oak Creek; and by two sons, Merton Lee of Decatur, Ill., and Theron V. Gergen of Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Isabelle Gergen, 69, formerly of Neillsville, who died February 7, in Tucson, Ariz., where she had been residing for several years.  Rev. Oscar Nichols of the Methodist church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Gergen is survived by four daughters and two sons and by the following brothers and sisters: Ernest McKimm of Great Falls, Mont., Raymond McKimm of Marshfield; Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Holt of Rt. 1 Greenwood, and Mrs. Robert (Della) Dux of Lancaster, Calif.

 

Pallbearers were: Walter Kozlowski, Albert McCammant, Walter Finder, Wayne Potter, Carl Wegner and Warren Hemp.  The V. F. W. Auxiliary attended the funeral in a body.

 

Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Kathleen Galstad, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee."

 

People from out of town here for the service were: Mrs. Vivian Howard of Duarte, Cal.; Mrs. Tunis Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Earl R. Beck of Tucson, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pamperin and family of oak Creek; Sgt. and Mrs. Theron V. Gergen of Ft. Campbell, Ky.; Merton Lee of Decatur, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reinwand, Jr., of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Mel Leinwander of Milwaukee.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McKimm and Judy of Great Falls, Mont.; Raymond McKimm of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hetzel and Mrs. Ethel Holt of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holt and Donald, Hugh Christie and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kaudy of Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Christie of Loyal.

 

The V. F. W. Auxiliary attended the funeral in a body.
