Atcherson, Wilferd C. (26 NOV 1922 - 21 FEB 2012)
Wilferd Charles Atcherson, a
resident of Harbor House Memory Care in Eau Claire, made his way to
heaven on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012.
Wilferd, a long-time resident of the Unity area in Clark County,
was born on Oct. 18, 1922, to the late Beryl (Walrath) and Otto
Atcherson. Willie, a graduate of Unity High School, lived and
worked on the family farm his entire life, expanding and improving
it every year.
On Nov. 26, 1949, Wilferd married Auralia Evelyn Clara Louise
Wetzel, and from their union, four cherished daughters were born:
June Ann (Melvin) Kloehn of Chattanooga, Tenn., Joyce Marie (Phil)
Wall of Mt. Horeb, Wis., Janice Ellen (Michael) Oestreich of Eau
Claire, Wis., and Alice Louise (Robert) Kellett of Bedminster,
N.J.
Wilferd was gifted with a high mechanical aptitude, which he honed
by repairing and rebuilding anything with an engine, from tractors
to cars, from snowmobiles to lawnmowers.
When Wilferd was idled by the winters' snows, he spent many
enjoyable hours riding his snowmobiles on the trails of
north-central Wisconsin. In the summer, when the chores were
finished, he loved to walk his farm, checking on the pond or the
progress of his crops on the "back forty."
Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Marlea
Hein.
He leaves behind his wife; his four daughters; and his
grandchildren, Lisa, Glenna, Rhonda, Brittany, Brennan, Jennifer,
Amanda and Faith; as well as a great-granddaughter,
Bailey.
A private memorial gathering will take place at his daughter's home
in April, after which, his cremains will be lovingly returned to
his beloved farm.
Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. To send
your condolence to the family, please see our obituaries at

The family would like to give a special thanks to Shelly, Judy and
Erin at Harbor House, who made Willie feel special the last five
years of his
life.
