Davis, Louise Mae (Marriage - 13 February 1965)
Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday in a double ring ceremony uniting in marriage Miss Louise Mae Davis, daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Davis of Neillsville, and Byrl Lawrence Strangfeld, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Strangfeld of Rt. 3 Neillsville. The Rev. David Witte officiated at the ceremony in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe.
The bride entered the church with her uncle, Gus Gorzelitz, who gave her in marriage. For her wedding, the bride wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace styled with a Basque bodice, the Sabrina neckline of which was trimmed with jewels. The full skirt of all-around tiers of lace ended in a chapel sweep train. A jeweled crown held her bouffant shoulder length veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses entwined with green.
Attendants were Mrs. Mary Strangfeld, as matron-of-honor, and Miss Patricia Pettis, bridesmaid. They were attired in blue floor length dresses with white accessories and carried small bouquets of pink carnations.
Bestman was Arnold Strangfeld and groomsman was Louis Strangfeld. Ushers were Edward Strangfeld and Kenneth Davis.
Robert Mitte sang, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love" accompanied by Karen Thoma.
The bride, a graduate of Neillsville High School, has been employed in a laundry. Mr. Strangfeld has attended the University in Eau Claire and the Kenosha Technical Institute. He is an employee of American Motors in Kenosha, where they plan to reside.
People from away here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Gus Gorzelitz of Kaukauna; Mary Meisenheimer and Diane Davis of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ableiter of Moose Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Violet Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Tomlinson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Tomlinson, all of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strangfeld, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Strangfeld, and Patricia Tomlinson of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Quast of Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Merton Onshus, Tom Clever, and David Klath of Kenosha; and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Martin and family of Muskego.
