Butler, Alvin (commits suicide - 4 Sept 1914)
Alvin Butler, residing on a farm in the town of Mead, was found dead in his bed at his home on Friday morning last. A shot from a gun, evidently in his own hands, caused death. Other members of the family in another part of the house failed to hear the report of the gun and the tragedy remained unknown until morning. District Attorney W.J. Rush was consulted during the day and decided that no inquest was necessary, death evidently being caused by Mr. Butler’s own hands. No cause can be given for the deed as Mr. Butler was in good circumstances and apparently in excellent health. His age was about thirty-two years. Among near relatives are his mother, several brothers and one sister, all residents of Mead and Mentor. - Thorp Courier
