Pleasant Ridge (18 February 1965)

 

The February meeting of the Pleasant Ridge 4-H club was held Saturday evening at the Grant town hall.  The meeting was called to order by Larry Thiede, president, followed by the flag pledge led by Meta Johnson.  Shirley Scharf read the secretary’s report. Following the formal opening Larry Thiede led members in group singing.

 

Carol Seefeldt gave a talk on 4-H pledges, a talk which she gave at the 4-H speaking contest.  She also told about the 4-H play given Saturday in Loyal, which received a red rating.  Shirley Scharf gave a report on the recent officers training meeting.

 

A talk on bicycle safety was given by Kathy Richmond, and Karen Richmond spoke on patrol safety.

 

Planned for the March meeting of the club is a health demonstration by Dale Braatz, Wayne Kuhl and Larry Thiede.

Mrs. Leah Short entered Memorial Hospital last week for medical treatment. She expects to return home later this week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lamoine Anason entertained the Couple’s club Saturday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larsen were hosts to their sheepshead club Monday evening.  Prizes were merited by Mrs. Ed Lezotte, Mrs. Carl Drescher, Roy Suckow and Calvin Gerhardt.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Louie Korth of Marshfield and their granddaughter, Margaret Schaefer of Nasonville, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Korth, and helped Leo observed his birthday.

 

Seven friends of Debra Magnuson helped her celebrate her eighth birthday Saturday afternoon.  The group enjoyed games and the birthday luncheon served by Mrs. Earl Magnuson.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larsen spent Sunday evening with their daughter, Mrs. Robert Chadwick and family near Greenwood.
