Schuelke, Henry (14 February 1883 - 18 February 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Zion Lutheran Church for Henry Schuelke, 82, of Granton, who died last Thursday in Neillsville. The Rev. F. C. Benecke officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Mr. Schuelke was born February 14, 1883, in the Town of Grant, where he spent most of his life, with the exception of a few years in Milwaukee.  He attended rural schools and the parochial school in Granton.

 

He was married October 27, 1909, to the former Ottellie Kuechenmeister in Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.  They moved to Milwaukee, where they resided until 1914, and returned then to a farm in the Town of Grant.  In 1952  they retired and moved to Granton.

 

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Harold of Chicago, Clarence of Two Harbors, Minn., and Harry of Milwaukee; five daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Esther) Ebert of Black River Falls, Mrs. Frederick (Helen) Garbisch, Rt. 2 Granton, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) LaDuca of Buffalo, N. Y., Mrs. Gust (Doris) Hagen of Neillsville, and Mrs. Dan (Ella) McCormick of Milwaukee.  Other survivors are: three brothers, William of Madison, Herman of Milwaukee and Alfred of Los Angeles, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Brooks and Miss Alma Schuelke, both of Milwaukee; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Elmer Schultz, Walter and Ewald Schlinsog, Everett Handt, Manford Cain and Martin Lautenbach.

 

Relatives and friends from away attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schuelke and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schuelke and family of Two Harbors, Minn.; Dan McCormick and Miss Janet Sherman of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schuelke of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Frank LaDuca and daughters of Buffalo, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ebert and family of Black River Falls; Miss Alma Schuelke and Herman Schuelke of Milwaukee; William Schuelke of Madison; Wayne Schuelke and Thane Meyer of Barneveld; Mr. and Mrs. Julian (balance of obit cut off).
