Johnson, Albert (8 APR 1896 - 8 JUL 1963)

 

Albert Wesley Johnson, 67, Waukegan, Ill., died at 9:00 a.m. July 8, 1963, after a long illness.  Funeral services will take place at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home Thursday at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery in Curtiss.  The body will lie in state at the funeral home beginning Wednesday noon.

 

Mr. Johnson was born at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) on April 8, 1896, and was married to Hattie Dake on Sept. 19, 1917, at Dorchester.  He received his education in the Curtiss public schools and grew up in this vicinity.  He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Lutheran Church.

 

The couple lived in Curtiss until 1936, when they moved to Chicago and later to Waukegan, where they had lived for the past 20 years.

 

He is survived by his wife, four children, Mrs. Arnold (LaMoine) Poeske, Wausau; Orin C. Johnson, Chicago; Mrs. June Braithwaite, Waukegan, and Mrs. Earl (Geraldine) Petis, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; one brother, Jake Johnson, Curtiss; five sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Lapp, Abbotsford; Mrs. Clara Olson, Moose Jaw, Canada; Mrs. Anna Hendrickson, Torrington, Wyo.; and Mrs. Otto (Mabel) Kind, Greenwood.

 

He was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
