Karpinski, Ed (Barn Fire - 6 JUL 1963)

A fire believed to have started from lightning, completely destroyed a barn on the Ed Karpinski farm, eight miles north and 1 1/2 miles west of Loyal in the town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.).  The fire started about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, just before a thunder storm.

There was no loss estimate available on the 75 foot barn which had been recently remodeled.  Karpinski was taken to Neillsville Memorial Hospital by ambulance at the time of the fire, apparently suffering from a heart attack.  He is reported in good condition at this time.

The Loyal Fire Department remained at the scene until 11:30.
