Schallock, Katherine J. "Kathy" (14 May 1968 - 14 February 2012)
Katherine (Kathy) J. Schallock, 43, of Neillsville passed into eternal life Feb. 14, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. She died from complications associated with her 13-month battle with leukemia. Her fiancé, family and friends were at her bedside.
Kathy was born May 14, 1968, and from that day forth she lived her life to the fullest. She was a character from day one - she was always making people laugh, usually at her crazy antics or from her teasing them. While she was usually laughing and having fun, she was also a huge softy - she cried during every sad movie she saw, loved animals and would give anybody a shoulder to lean on or advice when it was needed. However, she was incredibly strong when it came to her own pain, and she weathered her illness with dignity and grace. She kept her sense of humor throughout everything and was always trying to make everything easier on other people. She was an amazing mother, fiancée, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, and she will always be missed.
Surviving her are her loving daughter, Nicole Nagel of Jacksonville, FL; her mother, Jo Anne Campitelle of Neillsville; her father, Roger Hanby of Granton; her sister, Terry Sims of Jacksonville, FL; her brother, David (Mary Jo Meier) Hanby of Neillsville; Her step-mom, Darlene Hanby of Granton; her step-sister, Karen Walls of Mena, AR; her step-sister, Gail Lanswehr of Stratford; her step-brother, Keith (Alex) Turville of Jacksonville, FL; her loving friend and fiancé, Rick Dailey of Neillsville and his son, Trevor Dailey of Linden; her best friend, Lori (Mark) Shaw, of Marshfield; her dog, Abbie; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kathy was predeceased by her grandparents, John Campitelle, Mary Jane Russell, Meta Hanby and Richard Hanby and her devoted dog of many years, Fritzy.
A memorial service was held for Kathy at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pastor Douglas Bjerke officiated.
In memory of her, donations can be sent to the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, MN.
