Scheel, Louise Ernestine (30 September 1915 - 20 February 2012)

 

Louise E. Scheel, 96, of Neillsville died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at the Neillsville Care & Rehabilitation Center.

 

Louise Ernestine Scheel was born Sept. 30, 1915, in the Town of Weston, Clark County, the daughter of Wilhelm and Helene (Klueckmann) Scheel.  She was baptized in October of 1915 at Globe and confirmed May 15, 1929, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe by Pastor Walter Motzkus.  She received her education at Globe School.  While growing up, she helped on the home farm and also waitressed in Neillsville and worked as a clerk in the Globe Store.

 

In 1948 she moved to St. Paul, MN.  She was employed there until her retirement in September of 1982 when she moved back to Neillsville to 603 W. 4th Street.

 

She had been a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Globe, and while living in St. Paul, she became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of St. Paul.  In 1982, she transferred membership to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Neillsville.

 

Louise is survived by nieces and nephews, Helene Kalsow of St. Paul, MN, Robert (Alexandria) Scheel of Englewood, FL, Eileen (Bob) Bell of Neillsville, Jérold (Carol) Scheel of Beaver Dam, Petra Kalsow of St. Paul and Pearl (James) Tank of Appleton.  She is also survived by many great and great-great-grand nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herman, Wilmar and Gerhardt Scheel; two sisters, Dora Hoffmann and Lillian Kalsow; a nephew, Melvin Hoffmann and a niece-by-marriage, Peggy Scheel.

 

Funeral services for Louise will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.  Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate.  Providing music will be Judy Trunkel, organist. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday morning at the church.  Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Honorary casketbearers will be Kenneth Kren, George Koerner, Jerold Scheel and James Tank.

 

Casketbearers for Louise will be Bob Bell, Fred Hoffmann, James Koerner, James and Robert Scheel and Nathan Tank.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Debt Reduction Fund, 711 W. 5th Street, Neillsville, WI 54456.
