Neillsville Locals (29 April 1965)

 

The Rev. and Mrs. E. G. Burtness last week visited in Rockton, Ill., at the Rev. Marcus Lewis home.  Before returning home they visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burtness, in Havana, Ill.

 

Mrs. Paul Blum is making an extended visit with relatives in Hammond, Ind., and Milwaukee.  In Chicago she will be a house guest of her daughter, Mrs. Karl Hoebling. 

 

Visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gerber, over a recent weekend were the Merlin Gerber family of Madison and the Walter and Lowell Gerber families of Rockford, Ill.

 

Mr. and Mrs. F. Richard Schneider and children went Friday to Algoma, Ia., for a weekend visit with the Rev. and Mrs. Frank B. Harcey, formerly of Neillsville. The Rev. Mr. Harcey served as pastor of the Congregational Church until about three years ago.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wetzel and two sons attended the golden wedding anniversary of Mrs. Wetzel’s uncle and aunt in Stanley Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kren and son of Watertown spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kren and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Stelter and family. 

 

The Rev. and Mrs. Walter Borowsky and two children of Minneapolis, Minn., spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Jacob Borowsky and son, Victor. The Rev. Mr. Borowsky conducted the Easter service Sunday, April 25, in St. Walter’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of America, with services beginning at 11:30 p.m. Saturday evening and lasting until 3:30 a.m. Sunday.  At 10 a.m. Sunday, the Rev. Mr. Borowsky conducted Easter service in the Ukrainian Church in Thorp.

 

Mrs. Ferd Hrach and Miss Freda Hrach of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Anderegg and children of Loyal, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ackerman of Pine Valley.
