Wedekind, Ida (18 August 1886 - 1 May 1965)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the United Church of Christ in Neillsville for Mrs. Richard Wedekind, 78, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died Saturday in Marshfield. The Rev. W. C. Koehler officiated, with burial in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Wedekind, the former Ida Luck, was born August 18, 1886, in Waukesha. Her parents were the late August and Augusta (Timm) Luck. Her family moved to the Neillsville area, locating in the Town of Levis, soon after her birth. She attended schools here.
On April 26, 1916, she was married to Richard Wedekind in Neillsville. They located on a farm in the Town of Grant, which has been their home for the last 49 years.
Surviving are her husband; seven children, Mrs. Clarence (Anita) Miller of Rt. 3 Neillsville; Harry Wedekind, of Rt. 1 Neillsville; Mrs. John (Leona) Damon of Rothschild; Mrs. Ruby Waulters and Mrs. Ernie (Lillian) Ewert, both of Milwaukee; Raymond Wedekind of Rt. 1 Neillsville; and Arlene Wedekind of Rt. 1, Neillsville. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Warren Hake of Neillsville; a brother, Frank Luck of Neillsville and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Helmuth Schultz, Arnold Henchen, Charles Meier, Kurt Janisch, Harold Ottow and George Frei.
"Saved By Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Attending were many friends and relatives from Neillsville, Milwaukee, Wausau, Eau Claire, Black River Falls and the surrounding area.
Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
