Saveland, Hazel Fisher (3 MAR 1918 - 15 FEB 2012)
Hazel Fisher Saveland, 93,
passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2012, in Stillwater,
Minn.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012,
at Ascension Episcopal Church, 214 N. Third St., in
Stillwater.
She was born March 3, 1918, in the town of Sherman to Stella (nee
Thomas) and George Fisher. She attended Spokeville Elementary
County School and Loyal High School and was a graduate of
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
In 1942 she married Ralph B. Saveland. She taught school briefly
and worked in the chemistry laboratories of J.I. Case and Ampco
Metal. She and her family resided in Green Bay and Holland,
Mich.
At various times and places in her life, she was active in AAUW,
League of Women Voters, Garden Club, Literary Society, Daughters of
the King and her favorite, The Questers.
She moved to Stillwater in 1993 to be close to her
family.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Saveland; son, John (Ellen);
grandson, Marty; and niece, Dierdra Thomas.
She was preceded in death by sister, Norma Laessig; and brother,
Tom Fisher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
