Chauncey B. Stevens, 82, died in Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, at 4:45 p.m. Saturday. His death was the result of okd age complications.
He was born in the town of Sherman, Jan. 9, 1876 and lived in the town of Sherman all of his life. He was married to Maude Turner, Aug. 14, 1902 at York Center. She died July 12, 1936. Soon after this marriage he moved to his own farm which was near the home of his parents. On Nov. 3, 1937 he was married to Mrs. Hulda Fisher at Veefkind. She died May 19, 1952. After his second marriage he moved to Veefkind. Since 1951, he has lived with his son, Ross Stevens and family.
Mr. Stevens served as a member of the school board of his district and town supervisor of the town of Sherman.
He is survived by one son, Ross Stevens of Spencer Rt. 2; and by three sisters, Mrs. mabel Austin of Granton, Mrs. Verna Gourlie of Florida, and Mrs. Ollie Knickle of Appleton; and one grandchild.
One son, one daughter, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held in the Veefkind Community Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Warren Henderson officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
